The Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies prepared the policy proposal, "Carbon Economy Roadmap & Pilot Carbon Credit Projects Between the Federal Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq." Iraq seeks a low-carbon, sustainable economy. This plan aims to reduce methane emissions, rebuild forests, and boost renewable energy. The Kurdistan Carbon and Climate Authority (KRICCA) is proposed to enhance transparent carbon governance and coordination. The Foundation commits to supporting Iraq in spearheading climate change initiatives and attaining the objectives of COP30.
