Strengthening Women’s Status in the Kurdistan Region Discussed

Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies and Ashti Abdullah, Adviser to Mr. Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, discussed a range of new ideas and projects aimed at developing women’s capabilities and strengthening their status and role in the Kurdistan Region.

On 19 July 2026, Ashti Abdullah, accompanied by a delegation, visited Vision Foundation. During the meeting, particular attention was given to the situation of women and the steps needed to strengthen and advance their role and status across different sectors.

The meeting emphasized that successful societal development cannot be achieved without women’s active and meaningful participation. In this context, several practical ideas and projects were discussed to develop women’s capabilities, expand their opportunities, and provide them with greater support.

The participants also discussed a number of projects, plans, and activities aimed at enabling women to play a stronger role in the future social, economic, and political development of the Kurdistan Region.
