Water-resource management, environmental protection, and the advancement of scientific research were the main topics discussed during a meeting between a delegation from Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies and Dr. Latif Rashid, former President of Iraq and former Minister of Water Resources.

Drawing on his extensive experience in environmental affairs and water-resource management, Dr. Latif Rashid expressed his readiness to coordinate and cooperate with Vision Foundation, particularly in advancing research and scientific knowledge in these fields.

The former President emphasized the important role of research centers in development and strategic decision-making. He noted that despite their significance to national progress, such institutions have not received sufficient attention in Iraq. He therefore stressed the need to draw on the expertise and research outputs of think tanks and research centers before making major decisions.

The meeting took place during an official visit by a delegation from Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies to Dr. Latif Rashid on Monday, July 20, 2026.
