On the 26th and 27th of this month, the Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies took part in a special workshop in Erbil focused on electoral integrity and encouraging greater voter participation.

The project is financially supported by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, implemented by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), with the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq also present and acting as a full partner.

In the first workshop, a roadmap was developed to enhance cooperation and unify the efforts of stakeholders in the electoral process. In this workshop, the stages of implementing the roadmap were outlined, with the main goal being to increase citizen participation in voting, ensure the process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner, and strengthen voters’ trust.

The workshop was attended by the Independent High Electoral Commission, a large number of specialized election-related organizations, academics, research centers, and unions.
