Federal Court Decisions and Their Impact on the Kurdistan Region

On June 16th 2025 the Political Affairs Department of the Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies VFSS convened an open Discussion to assess the professionalism and impartiality of Iraq’s Federal Supreme Court in its recent rulings, as well as the potential for those decisions to be misused.
The session brought together distinguished lawyers, academics, and constitutional law experts, whose insights have been integrated into VFSS’s ongoing research. This enhanced study now examines the court’s institutional structure, its decision-making processes, and the far-reaching implications of its judgments on the constitutional and political dynamics within the Kurdistan Region
