Kurdish–Turkish Relations Explored in Open Seminar at the Vision Foundation

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies VFSS, hosted an open seminar organized by its Turkey Desk, featuring Professor Oytun Orhan of the Middle East Research Center (ORSAM) as guest speaker. The event convened leading academics and policy experts to examine the evolving dynamics between Ankara and the Kurdish population, alongside the broader regional context.

Professor Orhan opened the discussion with an analysis of recent advances in the Turkish–Kurdish peace process and the ripple effects of developments in Syria, Rojava and the Kurdistan Region. Speaking via virtual link, he argued that “this moment presents a unique opportunity to initiate a political dialogue capable of delivering a comprehensive resolution to the Kurdish question in Türkiye.”
