Reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament and Forming a National Partnership Government Are Key to Solving Current Challenges

The issue of reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament and forming a new government, alongside strengthening the role of research Foundations and promoting evidence-based decision-making, was discussed during a meeting between the Vision Foundation and a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and his accompanying delegation. The meeting emphasized the need to address the current political situation and advance development in the Kurdistan Region.
The visit took place on Monday, June 15, 2026. Representatives of the Vision Foundation welcomed Dr. Hawre Daro Sheikh Nouri, a member of the Political Bureau of the PUK and President of ANZO Foundation, Asos Ali, a member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, and Sarko Azad Galali, a former member of the Kurdistan Parliament.
During the meeting, Dr. Hawre Daro Sheikh Nouri highlighted the important role played by the Vision Foundation in supporting decision-makers through scientific research and analysis that contribute to sound policymaking. He also stressed the Kurdistan Region’s need for more research centers and think tanks so that public policies and decisions can be grounded in knowledge and academic research.
The reactivation of the Kurdistan Parliament and the formation of a new cabinet were among the main topics of discussion. Participants underscored the importance of establishing a national partnership government capable of responding to the demands of the current stage, creating opportunities to address citizens’ concerns, and strengthening political and social cohesion.
Another part of the discussion focused on mechanisms and approaches for developing the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region and improving the public services provided by the Kurdistan Regional Government to its citizens.
