On Thursday, 4/12/2025, Dr. Halo Askari, Iraqi Minister of Environment, visited the Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies to discuss the environmental situation in the Kurdistan Region and the implementation of several projects.
During the meeting, Minister Askari provided an overview of the Ministry’s work and detailed the current environmental threats facing Iraq, including water and rainfall shortages, vegetation decline, and the disappearance of wildlife. He also highlighted the risks the Kurdistan Region faces if these issues are not addressed.
The Vision Foundation requested future collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Environment to implement projects and research initiatives aimed at improving the environmental situation in the Kurdistan Region, while sharing feedback and recommendations for their successful execution.
