On May 15, 2025, the Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies inaugurated the first series of meetings for its “Open Eye” project, focusing initially on the electricity sector. The sessions took place at the Foundation’s Sulaymaniyah headquarters.

The “Open Eye” initiative is designed to foster transparency and to explore both the challenges and opportunities for enhancing public electricity services across the governorate.

Attendees included Eng. Anwar Hama Saeed, Director General of Sulaymaniyah Electricity, who led a delegation of sector specialists. Also present were representatives from the Kurdistan Regional Government, electricity experts, media professionals, and officials from organizations responsible for power generation, distribution, and maintenance.

By creating a collaborative forum that unites experts, the private sector, the public, and government bodies, the “Open Eye” project seeks to develop actionable proposals and solutions aimed at improving service delivery and meeting citizens’ energy needs with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
