In a step aimed at strengthening coordination between academic and research institutions in the field of national security, several members of the National Security Strategy Advisory Board of the Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies paid an official visit to the College of National Security at the University of Sulaimani, where both sides discussed future steps for cooperation and joint activities.
During the meeting, held on Monday, May 18, 2026, and hosted by Dr. Alla Barzanji, Dean of the College of National Security at the University of Sulaimani, both parties emphasized the importance of establishing a continuous relationship between academic centers and research institutions, especially at a time when the Kurdistan Region and Iraq need modern scientific perspectives and studies to address ongoing security and geopolitical changes.
Part of the discussions focused on the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the Vision Foundation and the University of Sulaimani. Both sides stated that upcoming steps would focus on strengthening scientific and strategic cooperation.
They also discussed organizing joint activities in various forms, including strategic research, studies, seminars, open discussions, and debates, with the aim of spreading national and security awareness among citizens.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and preparing joint plans and future activities that could contribute to strengthening national security in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
