Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies is participating in a specialized workshop aimed at developing a roadmap to protect and strengthen the electoral process in Iraq, as the country prepares for the upcoming provincial council elections.
The workshop commenced on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Erbil and is scheduled to continue for two days. Aram Saeed, Head of Planning at Vision Foundation, is attending the event as the organization’s representative
The activity is implemented with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office and organized by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA). The workshop seeks to establish an effective framework for safeguarding the integrity and fairness of elections, particularly at a time when digital platforms and social media have a growing influence on public opinion and electoral processes.
Previously, under the “Iraq Filter” project, Vision Foundation, in partnership with the German Federal Foreign Office, International IDEA, and several Iraqi civil society organizations, implemented a large-scale initiative to combat misinformation and fake news during the 2025 elections.
Vision Foundation’s participation in this workshop reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting democratic processes, promoting public awareness, and advancing policies and mechanisms that help protect elections and strengthen democratic governance in Iraq.
