The Head of Projects Department at Vision Foundation participated in a special event focused on climate change and environmental protection, highlighting the importance of expanding green spaces in cities and strengthening environmental conservation efforts across the Kurdistan Region.
The event was held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Erbil under the title “World Environment Day 2026.” Amanj Kakarash, Head of Projects Department at Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies, attended the event, which was organized under the patronage of Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
During the discussions, participants addressed the sustainable use of water resources, the expansion of urban green areas, the protection of biodiversity, and improvements in solid waste management systems. Participants emphasized that these measures are essential for building a healthier environment and ensuring a sustainable future for coming generations.
Environmental protection and sustainable development are among the core priorities of Vision Foundation. Over the past years, the foundation has organized a number of dialogues, seminars, and specialized studies on environmental and agricultural issues, presenting their findings and recommendations through various reports and research papers to decision-makers and relevant stakeholders.
