In a scientific panel at the University of Sulaymaniyah, the topic of Kurdish nationalism was discussed. The discussion emphasized the importance of maintaining Kurdish nationalist discourse across different eras and contexts, while also preserving its historical achievements.
Today, Monday, 23/2/2026, in a scientific panel organized collaboratively by Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies and the College of Humanities at the University of Sulaymaniyah, Kurdish nationalism across different periods, the sources of this type of nationalism, and the relationship between federalism and nationalism were addressed.
The panel included Adnan osman, head of Vision for Strategic Studies; Dr. Hardi Mahdi Mika, university lecturer; Dr. Kawa Mohammed, university lecturer; and Dr. Jalal Hasan, dean of the College of Social Sciences.
Adnan Osman, head of Vision, stated: “From the beginning of the uprisings, Kurdish nationalism was a genuine approach based on statehood and independence; this placed Kurdish identity at the forefront.”
Additionally, Dr. Jalal Hasan, dean of the College of Social Sciences, emphasized that consensual democracy currently works as a temporary mechanism and solution for Iraq, but in the long term it could cause significant harm to the unity of Iraq.
