Coordination between Civil Society Organizations and Economic Issues in the Region Discussed at Vision Foundation

The importance of coordination between civil society organizations was discussed at Vision Foundation, and financial problems as well as opportunities to strengthen the Kurdistan Region’s economy were another part of the discussions.
Today, Monday, 16/2/2026, Jutiar Nuri, member of the High Political Council and a leader of the Kurdistan National Union (KNU), and Sarkawt Shahid Hama Ghafoor, member of the Support Council of the PUK, visited Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies, during which several important issues were discussed.
The meeting emphasized the importance of relations and coordination between civil society organizations in order to further develop the Kurdistan Region and strengthen joint efforts.
They also discussed the financial challenges facing the Kurdistan Region and its relations with the central government. It was stressed that the salary issue with Baghdad should not overshadow other problems, obligations, and rights of the region.
At the end of the discussions, steps that could play an important role in strengthening and expanding the economy of the Kurdistan Region in general, and the city of Sulaimani in particular, were addressed.
